In the role of Section Team Lead, we'll count on you to:
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Bridge Engineering Team Lead, we'll count on you to:
- Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects
- Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff
- Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project's development
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
- Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice
- Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure completion of documents on schedule
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable-stayed), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, and perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
- Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
- Mentor younger staff and support continued development
- Perform Project Manager duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of bridge design experience
- Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design, preservation/rehab and inspection projects
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LPile, SAP2000, CSiBridge, CTBridge, MS Project
- FHWA/NBIS Bridge Inspection Certification
- Movable Bridge Design Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 7 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
