The opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Port Operations Manager. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire port complex, managing relationships with vendors and local authorities, and driving performance management to increase productivity and reduce costs. Your expertise will be essential in promoting Maersk strategies, reviewing overall performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a holistic view of the port complex and area, identifying opportunities for improvement and synergies

  • Own relationships with vendors, VSA, suppliers, and local authorities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration

  • Set KPIs and objectives, driving performance management and promoting Maersk strategies

  • Review overall performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase productivity and reduce costs

  • Manage waste reduction, idle, and waiting times, and implement strategies to minimize these

  • Engage with long-term projects, preparing for future challenges and opportunities

  • Collaborate with Terminal and Port Authority teams to drive terminal improvements and address seasonal and proforma challenges

  • Manage contracts and SLAs, ensuring compliance and effective execution Oversee cost management, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing waste

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global databases, including port memos Serve as point of escalation for Berth Planner, ensuring effective communication and resolution

  • Drive optimization opportunities to improve execution and cost performance

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Husbanding and Vessel/Terminal Operations

  • Strong negotiation, conflict management, and analytical skills

  • Self-driven and result-oriented leader with strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to work independently and remotely in a hectic environment

  • The successful candidate must be located in the Florida, USA region and have authorization to work in the USA.

Pay Range: $110,000-$120,000*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
