Position Summary
Work involves food preparation, food serving, and cleaning the food service areas in a cafeteria setting. Employees work under direct supervision while involved in preparation, serving, and cleaning. Employee follows written and/or oral procedures and practices. Employee implements procedures, methods, and activities developed by others. Position does other duties outside of food service when customer load does not demand full time work in the dining hall.

Duties/Responsibilities


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepping food, following recipes.
  • Serve food in cafeteria setting.
  • Set up buffet lines and serve individual plates.
  • Interact with customers from young children to senior citizens in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Cleaning and sanitizing the work areas.
  • Operate a commercial dishwasher.
  • Clean chairs, tables, and service lines.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Clean windows, baseboards, blinds, and walkways and walls of food service building.
  • Providing supervision to between 3-6 staff and volunteers per meal service when working in the dining hall.

  • Other duties as assigned to include custodial duties throughout the property including cleaning guest housing, classroom teaching spaces, some light landscaping duties, cleaning state vehicles between uses, and other support to the overall operation of the residential facility.
