About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Technology team as a Senior Business Systems Analyst based in Miami, FL. The Senior Business Analyst, POS is responsible for facilitating requirements gathering workshops, writing and refining business requirements, documenting functional requirements and developing and refining user stories, product backlog items, acceptance criteria, test plans, etc. for Subway's global Point of Sale platform used across 51 countries and 30,000+ restaurants. The Senior Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders, other business analysts and end users to elicit and document feedback, and regularly communicates with the product owner(s), scrum master(s) and product developers throughout the software development lifecycle. They should be a great communicator, have strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills as well as have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Liase with stakeholders (business and external customers) to gather, document and analyze detailed business / system / product requirements needed by technology teams to deliver projects. Identify gaps in requirements and following up with stakeholders to resolve gaps, communicate requirements clearly using a variety of formats (e.g., BRD's, FRD's user stories, acceptance criteria, risks, mitigation plans, etc.)
  • Develop technical, functional, and strategic artifacts such as solution diagrams, business requirements, and business cases to support delivery of the projects across the SDLC.
  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) in the Subway ecosystem and develop the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to business stakeholders.
  • Plan, prioritize and manage project scope, define key milestones, groom product backlog, refine requirements and user stories (with Product Owner) as appropriate and aligned with product roadmap.
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and stakeholders, including any third parties to document requirements (business, functional and technical), throughout the release lifecycle, from inception, through release, including ongoing production support. May also work with internal and/or external development teams and vendor partners to deliver project objectives.
  • Support the project and program managers to ensure that the projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Work with Product Owner(s) to write and develop user guides, training materials (videos, help content, job aids, etc.) and other artifacts necessary to support quarterly product launches.
  • Validate all requirements and user stories meet valid acceptance criteria, has the appropriate acceptance tests, then collaborate with testing teams to validate and accept requirements and stories once they pass all validations
  • Collaborate with team of other Business Analysts, providing support, guidance and oversight, with a "whatever it takes" mindset to complete required tasks on time, according to plan and at a high quality of work.



Qualifications (some examples listed below):



  • Bachelors Degree - Business, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • SCRUM, Product Manager/Owner, SAFe, CSPO, CSM, PMI certification or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years' overall experience in Business Analysis, Product Manager/Owner, Project Manager, IT services, and/or other Technology / Engineering functions.
  • Experience working in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry or Retail CPG industry and staying current with technology trends, specifically Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative). Experience working with offshore and onshore development teams in Agile and Scrum methodologies using industry-standard tools (e.g., Azure Deve Ops, JIRA)
  • Strong influential communication skills (verbal, written and presentation), with the ability to exert influence and meet commitments in a highly matrixed organization
  • Prior experience in a technical domain with ability to successfully adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment. Comfort with ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
  • Market research skills, including a curiosity for new technology products and trends, and the ability to explain their business value and impact.
  • Ability to liaise with disparate stakeholder groups and align them toward common goals and outcomes.
  • Skilled in MicroSoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with additional experience in Project, Smartsheet, and Figma.
