Overview

Job Responsibilities


  • Assist with Anesthesia Simulation Equipment

    • Set up and take down anesthesia simulation equipment as needed for training sessions and simulation experiences.
    • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
    • Monitor and replenish supplies necessary for the program's daily operations.
    • Maintain inventory records and coordinate procurement of supplies as directed.




  • WSON Nurse Anesthesia Program Support

    • Support Program Director and Assistant Program Director for semester program scheduling, registration issues, interviews, and special room reservations for semester.
    • Update Program Director's and Assistant Program Director's calendars as appropriate.
    • Create and maintain accurate student database (e.g. Banner, Typhon), records (alumni and current), and email distribution lists.
    • Provide telephone coverage for the office of the Nurse Anesthesia Program, the Program Director and Assistant Program Director.
    • Support graduate faculty by maintaining accurate student files, assisting with photocopying, etc.
    • Attend and provide accurate minutes of monthly nurse anesthesia meetings.
    • Serve as a point of contact for prospective students, current students, faculty, and Clinical Site Coordinators within the Nurse Anesthesia Program and assist with inquiries as necessary.
    • Liaison with clinical site coordinators to ensure that the graduate programs comply with any special requirements of students prior to beginning their clinical rotation.
    • Liaison with other key offices on campus.



  • Accreditation Support

    • Accreditation Support for CACREP, COA, CCNE, and other accrediting agencies.
    • Maintain accurate database of students and other required data for accreditation/state and grant requirements.
    • Keep accurate records and documentation required for accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
    • Includes compiling data, organizing files, and assisting with annual reporting as necessary.



  • Other Duties

    • Work with program leadership and Transfer and Graduate Admissions to coordinate admissions process in the nurse anesthesia program; manage application files, set up interviews, and maintain spreadsheets; primary contact person for both the applicant and Transfer and Graduate Admissions.
    • Organize special events as appropriate, including mailing and receiving acknowledgements, arranging parking and catering, etc., as needed.
    • Support Program Development Initiatives; assist in the preparation of program materials, reports, and presentations; contribute to special projects and initiatives aimed at program improvement and development.
    • Any other duties as assigned.



Education / Experience
A.A.S. Degree in business, office management or similar degree and/or 2+ years of relevant office experience.
Competencies / Skills

  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures, particularly in anesthesia or healthcare education, is advantageous
  • Must be a team player and have a willingness to be flexible in the workplace
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team
  • Skills with document imaging
  • Strong skills in creation, maintenance and integration of data base information for the purposes of documentation, course forecasting and scheduling

  • Must be able to move and/or assist with moving anesthesia equipment with assistive devices with nurse anesthesia faculty

Work Hours
Monday - Friday day: 35 hours per week
12-month position 8:30 am - 4:30 pm during fall and spring semester. University Summer Hours: May through August

Salary / Hourly Range $17.25-$20.30 per hour
