About the School of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of Mathematics instructs students from across campus, including undergraduate and graduate students. Its faculty carry out research in a wide variety of Mathematical Sciences. They are key players in several cross-disciplinary institutes, centers, and programs at Georgia Tech, including PhD programs in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization (ACO), Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), Bioinformatics, Quantitative Bioscience (QBioS), and Machine Learning (ML@GT).

Job Summary

The School of Mathematics in the College of Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for the position of Lecturer (non-tenure track) to teach undergraduate courses in the area of Mathematics. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will teach undergraduate lecture and seminar classes in Mathematics and conduct administrative activities including academic advisement of undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities comprise 3 courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters, and two courses in the summer. The applicant will collaborate with other faculty on curricula development.

Required Qualifications

This position vacancy is an open rank announcement. Final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Non-tenure Track Academic Faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.2 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook (https://www.policylibrary.gatech.edu/faculty-handbook/3.2.2-non-tenure-track-academic-faculty-members-hiring-and-promotion-guidelines )

Lecturer

  • Graduate degree in Mathematical Sciences or related area

Senior Lecturer

  • Graduate degree in Mathematical Sciences or related area
  • At least six (6) years full-time relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications

  • The ability to teach and mentor a distinct student body.
  • The ability to promote a welcoming educational/work environment.
  • The ability to mentor and assist students interested in pursuing graduate education.
