The key tasks for this position include synthesizing literature physiology data on the impacts of gastrointestinal surgery, evaluating the use of PBBMs to predict oral absorption before and after surgery for different types of small molecule drugs, and communication of these results to the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • With guidance from their mentor, the candidate will be expected to perform physiology-based biopharmaceutics modeling using GastroPlus software
  • The candidate will be expected to clearly communicate trends in the performance of the PBBMs on different types of compounds, such as based on ionizability or solubility
  • The candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The candidate must be proactive in seeking guidance when needed
  • The candidate will be required to regularly present their progress in formal and informal settings to colleagues
  • The candidate will interface with colleagues in other departments, such as Formulation Development or Clinical Development, as needed

  • Proven technical proficiency and demonstrated skill in planning and interpreting modeling work
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal), especially within area(s) of expertise
  • Exposure to physiology-based biopharmaceutics modeling software (e.g. GastroPlus, SimCYP, gPROMS Formulated Products, PK-Sim) preferred but can be taught
  • Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2025
