GAI's Community Solutions Group is seeking a motivated leader to support practice expansion in the Ohio River Valley Region and beyond. Based in Kentucky or Indiana, this position will assist in the development and expansion of our Community Solutions Group practice, leading multi-disciplined landscape architecture and planning projects and Business Development in collaboration with our Community Solutions Group team and other engineering and service departments at GAI Consultants. This may include private development and new communities, public realm parks and streetscapes as well as campus and institutional settings. GAI has offices in Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN from which to build staff / team. The successful candidate will be eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Our Community Solutions Group is a diverse practice integrating Landscape Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, and Economic Development. Our mission is to thoughtfully create locally authentic and active places for people across the public realm as well as private development and new communities. This is a senior position responsible for client management, project development, and business development for public and private project opportunities in the greater region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide business development, sales and client management for existing and new strategic clients.
  • Work with other senior leadership to support and execute GAI's multi-disciplined efforts in the greater Ohio River / Midwest Region.
  • Work with technical and proposal staff to develop responses for cost proposals, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
  • Build a project team to support growth by leading, hiring, and mentoring staff.
  • Work with project managers to develop project management plans for effective management of project deliverables, budget control, and schedule control, with a focus on maximizing client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Negotiate or assist with negotiating contracts.
  • Assist with annual strategic and tactical planning for the market and company.
  • Contribute to GAI's public profile by actively participating in leadership roles in the community and/or professional organizations.
  • Support plan preparation, scope compliance, scheduling of tasks
  • Have a good working knowledge of reviewing and approving local agencies - Cities, Counties, and Authorities.
  • Prepare weekly updates to backlog and manpower reports


Job Qualifications (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):



  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Landscape Architecture and Planning, with 5 in the local market preferred.
  • The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Landscape Architect in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio or have the ability to obtain within 6-12 months
  • Capable of sales to support a team as practice develops.
  • Knowledge of Landscape Architecture and Community Planning
  • Understanding of AutoCAD required; Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, ArcGIS, and Civil3D all a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Bachelors of Landscape Architecture (required)
Experience
10 years: Landscape Architecture and Planning, with 5 in the local market preferred. (required)
Licenses & Certifications
Prof Landscape Arch (PLA) (preferred)
Driver's License (required)
