Test Technician

Position requires performing in-process and
final product testing using standard and/or special purpose test equipment,
thermal vacuum chambers, and vibration fixtures

Job Summary

  • Performs
    variety of testing tasks in accordance with test procedures to ensure
    quality standards are met.
  • Perform
    set-up for AC, DC and digital tests, calibrate, test.
  • Perform
    off-site and in-house environmental tests in accordance with test
    procedures.
  • Troubleshoot
    units under test, recognize failures, and define appropriate action to be
    taken for rework.
  • Diagnose
    malfunctions for production and MRO units based on evaluation and test
    results.
  • Troubleshoot
    circuits, components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Define
    appropriate action to be taken for rework of recognized failures.
  • Report
    regularly to management and other stakeholders.
  • May
    require some complex assembly work, test set up and documentation, other
    tasks which require special care in handling or other procedures which
    require good dexterity and facility in use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Responsible
    for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in
    their work area.
  • Perform
    other duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient
    with use and set-up of various test equipment, oscilloscopes, DMM Digital
    multimeter.
  • Perform
    OSV Thermal Cycling, Vibration in accordance with test procedures.
  • Must
    be able to read and interpret test instructions, assembly instructions,
    and engineering drawings.
    (blueprints)
    and schematics.
  • Prepare
    test reports.
  • Clean
    and maintain test areas and equipment.
  • Participate
    in continuous process improvement activities.
  • Ability
    to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
    written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must
    complete all assigned paperwork as required.
  • Knowledge
    of basic electricity and electronics safety precautions.
  • Proficiency
    with computer usage and knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Required Experience and Education

  • AA
    in a technical field, or equivalent military training, or other
    certification.
  • Vocational,
    High School diploma, or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 5-year hands on experience in testing and troubleshooting electronics
    assemblies to component level. 10 years experience preferred.
  • Experience
    in light electronics manufacturing.
  • Must
    be a US Person

This is a generic job posting for a Test Technician. Depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.

Base Compensation: USD 28.00 - 38.00 Paid Hourly
