Join us as our new Phage Lab Technician

This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for providing technical support (such as phage testing) for the sales and marketing team and/or customers. It willbe involved with all laboratory support functions for the Phage Lab.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

Participatingin laboratory testing as directed by senior lab staff and the Phage Lab Manager.
Participatingand maintainingampoule inventory for the culture host collection used for testing.
Maintainingand organizingdata, including entry of data into Phage registry, documentation of lab reports, lab requisitions and files in the applicable databases. Follows-up with appropriate personnel when necessary.
Performingtesting per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Phage Laboratory and enters results into applicable database for the generation of reports.
Performinggeneral lab housekeeping.
Maintaininggood laboratory practices and laboratory rooms according to standard operating procedures.
Keepinglab supplies and materials well stocked and places orders when necessary.
Maintaininglaboratory equipment through routine maintenance and documentation.
Participatingregularly in staff and other group meetings.
Performing all other duties as assigned. Reports to work on time and works overtime as required.
Keepinga log of all samples that are received into the Phage Laboratory.

To succeed you must hold:

Ability to read, write and speak English is a requirement of this position.
Employee will be required to perform tests using a variety of laboratory equipment.
A highly professional manner relating to conduct, appearance and attitude must be maintained.
Ability to participate in projects.
Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and work flows.
Ability to participate in a team-driven environment, but able to work independently.
Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs. SAP experience is a plus.
These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelors degree in a related field, such as Microbiolgy or Food Science, and prefer a minimum of one year experience.
