Summary: We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer to join our Learning, Culture, and Development team. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing, creating, and curating engaging and effective content for various learning programs. This role requires a strong background in content creation, instructional design, and the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop high-quality learning solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Content Creation:
    • Develop engaging and high-quality content for e-learning modules, instructor-led training, videos, simulations, job aids, and other instructional materials.
    • Write clear and concise instructional text, scripts, and storyboards.
    • Create visual elements and multimedia components to enhance learning experiences
    • Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create innovative learning solutions.
  • Content Curation:
    • Source and curate relevant content from various internal and external resources.
    • Ensure all curated content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with learning objectives.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and validate learning objectives and content.
    • Collaborate with instructional designers, learning consultants, training teams, and other team members to ensure content aligns with instructional design principles and learning outcomes.
  • Content Management:
    • Organize and manage content repositories, ensuring easy access and retrieval of learning materials.
    • Maintain and update content to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
    • Conduct usability testing to ensure content meets learner needs and expectations, functional requirements, and technology requirements.
  • Technology Utilization:
    • Leverage e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline), multimedia production software (e.g., Adobe Suite), and other authoring tools to create content.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in content creation tools and technologies.
  • Evaluation and Improvement:
    • Implement feedback mechanisms to gather input from team members, learners, SMEs, and stakeholders.
    • Use feedback and performance data to continuously improve and update content.
  • Brand Alignment:
    • Ensure all content adheres to the organization's branding and style guidelines, legal and compliance requirements, and quality standards.
    • Create content that is consistent with the organization's voice and tone.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, Learning Sciences, or a related field or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred, not required.
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in content creation, instructional design, eLearning development, or a related role.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
    • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia production.
    • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and learning management systems (LMS).
    • Ability to create visually appealing and interactive content.
    • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to think outside of the box.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Technological Proficiency:
    • Familiarity with current educational technology and multimedia tools.
    • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in instructional design or a related field.
  • Experience in a corporate learning environment.
  • Knowledge of gamification, microlearning, and mobile learning strategies.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Experience working with training teams, facilitators, or other learning teams.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
