Create a Natural Hazards checklist that at minimum identifies by Hazard Type listed in Task 2.0:

Evaluate the quality, adequacy, and fitness of purpose of the natural hazards data sources in Task 1.1. The evaluation shall include at minimum:

  • creation date
  • geographic coverage extent
  • resolution
  • data type (vector, raster)
  • coordinate system/projection
  • datum (geographic horizontal/vertical, tidal), and
  • unit of measure

Identify hazards for which there is little or no geo-spatial data source available.

Task 2.1: Identify and assess the quality of available geospatial natural hazards data. UGA shall identify and assess the suitability of available geo-spatial data for the following hazards:
Climate Driven Hazards

  • Storm surge flooding
  • Non-storm surge flooding (Riverine/Surface)
  • Mean Sea Level Change
  • Precipitation Change
  • Average Annual Temperature Increases
  • Extreme Heat/Cold
  • Hurricanes/Typhoons/Cyclones
  • Tornados
  • Wildlands Fire/ Wildfires
  • Thawing Permafrost
  • Drought
  • Desertification

  • UGA shall utilize authoritative data sets to assess risks to infrastructure from the following geologic hazards:

    • Geologic Hazards
    • Volcanic Activity
    • Earthquakes
    • Tsunamis
    • Subsidence
