Position Description

- Provide support for EMC storage infrastructure (SAN, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI, etc).

- Troubleshoot complex Linux issues in production, lab, and corporate environments.

- Manage Backups and Replication.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts.

- Deploy and scale production systems with minimal downtime.

- Secure/harden operating systems against compromise.

- Work closely with engineering to script and maintain release consistency across environments.

- Assist in network/Linux infrastructure planning, design, and maintenance.

- Manage Storage purchase and maintenance renewals.


Position Requirements

- 7-10 years of experience with Storage administration (EMC/Dell Unity series).

- 7-10 years of experience with Linux system administration (SUSE, Rocky, Redhat).

- Experience with Backup solutions (Veeam, Netbackup).

- Working knowledge of Linux and Virtualization (VMware and Xen).

- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and networking.

- Strong Linux system programming using a shell and a higher-level language.

- Strong and current working knowledge of modern x64-based server hardware.

- Experience building Linux kernels and troubleshooting kernel issues.

- Willing to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

- Experience configuring systems and storage for use with databases. (Postgres)

- Strong organization and documentation skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

- Strong knowledge in various systems disciplines (DNS, LDAP, SMTP, SSH/SSL, NTP, package managers, TPC/IP internals, volume managers/filesystems).

- Strong hands-on experience configuring and scaling a growing storage infrastructure requirement.

- Ability to create a capacity plan, redundancy model, and replication on the Dell/EMC Unity platforms.

- Experience administering and managing collocated servers.

Preferred:

- Experience with EMC/Dell Unity and VNX platforms.

- Experience with Brocade SAN switch configuration.

- Experience with Xenserver/VMWare based server virtualization.

- Experience with open-source monitoring and alerting systems (eg: Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, Cacti).

- Experience with systems automation management tools such as Puppet or Chef.

- BS in Computer Science.



Personal Requirements

- Will be required to come onsite at the Redwood City, California office.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 - 160,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a bonus plan and generous benefits.
