JOB TITLE: Technical Writer

PART-TIME: 13 HOURS a WEEK

LOCATION: Remote

TRAVEL: None

LinTech Global is looking for a Technical Writer with preferably a background in production support to provide Information Technology (IT) Systems Support Services to support our contract with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Compliance and Enforcement Assurance.

Position Overview:

  • Technical Writing Proficiency: Ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation, including project management plans, quality control plans, status reports, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of IT and Software Development: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, software development processes, and IT systems, particularly those related to environmental compliance and enforcement. ?
  • Knowledge of EPA Standards and Regulations: Understanding of EPA's information technology standards, Section 508 compliance, NIST, and FISMA requirements.
  • Documentation Tools Proficiency: Experience with documentation and project management tools such as Atlassian Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work with various stakeholders, including EPA staff, contractors, and technical teams, to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy. ?
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring all documentation is accurate, well-organized, and meets the requirements for integration with ICIS and other EPA systems. ?
  • Project Management Support: Ability to document project schedules, risk management plans, and other project management-related documentation
  • Document information related to Project Management, Requirements, Design, Development, Operation, and Maintenance manuals, Training materials, User Support documentation, Research and Development reports, Data Analysis, and various reports and plans ?
  • A background in the following tasks is preferred:

    • Experience in Production Support tasks
    • Logging, triage, and analysis of Tier 2/3 support tickets from client, utilizing application research, logs, and SQL queries
    • Creating a development ticket for defect/change requests
    • Gathering of requirements for defect/change requests that come through Support channels
    • Pre-release testing of Change/Defect releases
    • Provide Monthly System Statistics Reports to Client through data compilation and data analysis from multiple sources.
    • Provide Monthly CPIC report to Client
    • Release management including obtaining approval for release to production environment from client and coordinating with hosting contractors
    • Train users on how to access the information in the database


  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or computer science or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with the following technologies:

    • Confluence, Jira, and SQL (Basic-Intermediate)


  • Optional: Automated Testing/Smoke Testing using SahiPro
  • Optional: Vulnerability scanning using OWASP Zap


Required Qualifications:

  • Clearable and able to pass a background investigation in order to obtain a federal security clearance.
