For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Certified Nursing Assistants:

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Evening Shift, with weekend/holiday rotations

PER DIEM Opportunity - Requirements: 3 shifts per 8 week scheduling blocks

8 hour and 12 hour shift Scheduling Options

This uniquely fulfilling role combines CNA and Companion responsibilities as a caregiver that provides both observational companion support to patients in need of eyes on supervision with companionship and patient care in a 1 to 1 setting.

CNA Companions position themselves in their assigned patient's room to maintain constant visual observation of the patient. The role provides care in a supportive manner to patients, observes for changes in condition and alerting nursing staff as necessary.

*Float between inpatient units, provide 1 to 1 care to patients.

*A great opportunity to spend more dedicated time and build rapport with the patients you care for.

Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant Companion role functions under supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs various service duties to provide patient care, supervision, companionship, and support to the patient. Helps to maintain the patient room in a clean and orderly condition.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education:High school diploma or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications:Certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and on the State of Maine Registry, having completed a six-week or equivalent course required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

3. Experience:N/A
