Temporary Research Technician - Chemical Biological & Bioengineering

Minimum Requirement:
B.S. bioengineering, material science, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field.
1 year of related Experience

Research Technician will work in Bioengineering Laboratory in the Dept. of Chemical, Biological and Bioengineering.

Person must be familiar with biosafety level-2 ( BSL-2) laboratory safety rules and ensure effective implementation at all times. He/She will assist management in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, and related research materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations/Research Support: The Research Technician (RT) will work in Bioengineering laboratory in the Dept. of Chemical, Biological and Bioengineering. The RT will provide support for and reports to the Principal Investigator in all aspects of research activities within the laboratory. This person will assist management with daily lab activities.

Laboratory/Subject Care: The RT will be assisting management with the responsibilities for maintaining and inspecting all lab equipment, as well as maintain inventory supplies and related research materials.

Scientific and technical knowledge in life sciences is required for training duties.

Knowledge/Technical: The RT will be responsible with assisting management under the direction of the PI with training and supervising all students working in the laboratories (high school, undergraduate, and graduate students). Training duties include general lab safety and lab operations as well as in scientific techniques used to conduct research within the labs.
