Job Description

This position is reserved for Active Military Personnel looking for internships through the DoD SkillBridge program. If you are not currently serving, please see our website for other opportunities not marked SkillBridge.

Mercury is a DOD Contract manufacturer providing state of the art technology to support those who defend our country everyday. Mercury is an approved company for the SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. This program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Mercury SkillBridge is open to all ranks and experience levels provided they meet the minimum requirements for the position listed below. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Mercury, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members. You are responsible for:



  • Working from diagrams and drawings
  • Using hand and/or power tools and jigs.
  • Making continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Strong assembly skills
  • Ability to execute on all procedures, processes and work instructions
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools and their proper application
  • Must be able to meet quality and quantity production requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • Must be a US citizen with an active DOD secret clearance or have the ability to obtain one


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience using Factory Logix preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effectively learn and stay up to date on product configurations and best practices



This is a SkillBridge internship opportunity and does not offer compensation outside of your normal DoD pay.

This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
