JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Student Leadership & Involvement (SLI) is seekingcreative,student-centered,culturally competent candidatesto join our team asan Associate Director for Campus Programming.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment toinclusive excellence,student engagement, and theholistic developmentof students.The Associate Director provides strategic direction to ensure student organizations have the resources and advice necessary to successfully produce their on-campus programs.

Reporting to the Directorof Student Leadership & Involvement, this position serves as the advisor to the IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) and leads the five-member team responsible for advising/managing the Student Programming Association (SPA, programming board), Homecoming, the Center for Arts and Crafts, and the recognized student organization (RSO) event consultation process.

TYPICAL WORK DUTIES

  • Serve as the primary advisor to THON, supporting the leadership development of its 17-member executive committee and the successful production of annual events providing financial and emotional support to families impacted by childhood cancer, culminating in a 46-hour no-sit, no-sleep dance marathon.

  • Serve as the primary risk management liaison between the University's Risk Management Officer and Student Affairs units at University Park and the Commonwealth Campuses.

  • Collaborate with campus partners, develop processes, and advocate for policy that supports student organization and staff programming initiatives including space reservations, service/performer contracting, basic event production, and event risk mitigation.

  • Develop and manage budgets to support campus programming initiatives which are funded by the student-initiated fee, University allocations, and donors.

  • Provide support toStudent Leadership and involvement, Student Affairs, and the University through assistance with signature programs, project leadership, and service on various committees.

This position will serve as a member of the Student Leadership & Involvement leadership team andprovideguidance and insight across multiple functional areas including student organization support,campus programming, leadership development, and civic engagement. The ability to workeffectivelywith staff and students from diverse backgrounds and experiences is critical to the success of the SLI team. The successful candidate must demonstrate anunderstanding of student development,interpret and develop policies,think critically to resolve conflict and solve problems,communicate effectively, andorganize and manage multiple priorities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimally requires aBachelor'sdegree or higherand 8+ yearsof related experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

This position may require you to operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks.

A willingnessand ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
